Catch the Fishing Cycle!

Water temperatures have dropped this week and in return we’ve seen a pick up in the striped bass action. The Breachway has been consistent in the outgoing tide if your participating in the drift rotation. Otherwise the Breachway and pond has been producing on the incoming tide especially morning and evening. Lots of bait has been getting pushed in and stripers have been getting air born chasing them. Joe Baggs sand eel baits have been working well as well as live eels.

Fluke fishing has been holding up pretty well along the beaches with some nice sized keepers mixed in with a good number of short fish. Out around Block and inshore rock piles, people are doing well for black seabass with some really good sized ones.

Cod reopened and reports have been very good from areas out around Coxes Ledge and deeper water past block, can make a nice addition to the box on your way in from the tuna grounds.

Tautog fishing also reopened and anglers have been having success from shore some nice size fish coming from the tip of the Breachway. The tuna bite south East of Block Island remains pretty consistent with bluefin being caught on the jig and a few yellowfin on the troll a little farther out.
