We have a great ocean forecast for this weekend. If you have the opportunity to get out I strongly recommend doing so. Shore and off shore fishing has been good for all different fish that occupy our waters.
Water out front is around 73 degrees. The salt ponds have seen higher temperatures especially on the brighter days. fishing from shore and around the breachways this week have seemed to pick up quite a bit. With stripers being caught on chunk bait, live eels, and lures. We have seen some nice sized fluke getting caught inside the Breachway on an incoming tide. Taking advantage of the new sand bar in the channel.
Scup bite from beach and rocks has been steady.
There hasn't been a lot of bluefish around lately, a few are being caught every once and awhile. Small bait continue to spread out around the pond. Some good size schools of peanut bunker are starting to form.
Fluke and seabass bite has been decent. A lot of short fluke best bite still seems to be in front of east beach and Misquamicut. Always keep your eyes open when out on the water this time of year you never know what you will see. Some reports of Bonita are starting to trickle in.
Tuna reports have been mixed. Reports of a lot of life and less tuna. More giants than small fish but everyday its changing, Tons of bait out there including sand eels, whiting, and mackerel.
