The bite is on, anglers have the opportunity to catch fish from shore, boat, off shore. Bait along the south shore is in high abundance with all different types. Out front there has been Mackerel, bunker, silversides, peanut bunker, rain bait and sand eels. There also has been a lot of juvenile fish that have been adding to the bait such as small scup and seabass.
The pond has been lighting up on the incoming tide especially in the morning and evening. Bass are being seen coming air born and pushing bait up against the banks. Use the structure to your advantage while fishing and get your bait in front of ambush points (Points & Bars). Live eels have been producing the bigger fish. Night fishing has been heating up on the rocks with guys doing well on plugs and bucktails. Bluefish numbers have increased this past week.
Fluke and Seabass fishing has held up well this week with East Beach producing the better bite right now. Some reports of high low rigs starting to win the bite over dead sticking a 3-way rig. Multiple 7lb fish coming in this week with a fair share of just keeper or shorts. If you want a fun way to catch seabass this time of year fish a shallow rock pile and cast heavy soft plastic swimbaits and reel slow.
The Tuna bite has been hot and cold with the past two days lighting up with a lot of fish in certain areas. A lot of udders and a few overs. Bite is coming off the troll and jig.
