The wind just won’t give us a break! Another round of gusty southwest and west winds will make the weekend bumpy for boaters, but the bite’s still there for those who can pick their window. The fall run is winding down, yet there’s still solid tog fishing and a few stripers and albies around to keep rods bent.
The bass bite has definitely slowed, but there are still fish to be caught from the surf during the morning and evening tides. A mix of schoolies and slot-sized fish are being picked off around the breachways and local beaches. Inside the pond, things have quieted, but some fish are still hitting soft plastics and small swimmers around bait. Target areas way in the back.
Hot Lures: Vudu Shad and JYG soft baits are good choices inside. Breachway Bomber outside.
Tog fishing remains solid with quality fish still being caught when the wind allows. Shore anglers are getting them around jetties and rockpiles, while boaters working deeper structure continue to do well. Green crabs continue to produce.
Fresh crabs and a full selection of jigs and rigs in stock!
A few albies are still lingering, mostly scattered schools popping up for short feeds. Cod and sea bass continue to mix in for those fishing the deeper rockpiles while togging.
Hot Lures: Hogy and JoeBaggs epoxy jigs still catching albies and late-season schoolies alike.
The wind may be howling, but there’s still time to get in on some late-fall action. Pick your window, dress warm, and stop by for bait, tackle, and the latest local info before you head out.
