At the heart of the Free Swimmer is the waterproof Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) system, which uses a specially formulated, low-viscosity drag grease. At rest, the grease remains fluid, but as soon as the drag is engaged, it thickens for increased resistance. This innovative system provides an ultra-smooth, consistent drag, offering low initial inertia for immediate responsiveness and "beast-stopping" power that can handle the most intense runs and powerful fish.

The reel is available in both 8,000 and 10,000 sizes, with an alloy sideplate that houses Digigear technology.
