The calendar's turning, but the season isn't over yet. A rough stretch of weather is on tap with big south and southwest blows Friday into Saturday—gusts pushing 40–45 knots and seas building to ten feet. Sunday finally looks calmer, with seas dropping and temps settling in the mid-50s.
Striped Bass
The bass bite has thinned some, but the surf picked back up this week for those putting in the time. Smaller fish are common with a mix of slots and a few bigger ones showing after dark around the breachways and inlets. Inside the pond, daytime fishing has stayed solid. Shad made a strong showing this week—big ones too—and they've provided some great light-tackle fun.
🔥 Hot Lures: Darters by Northbar, Super Strike, and Yo-Zuri have been the top producers along with Vudu Shad

Tautog (Blackfish)
Last weekend's bite was excellent and still going strong. The rougher weather has kept some boats tied up, but those getting out continue to find quality fish. Shore anglers are also picking at good ones, especially around structure that's getting a little less pressure.
🦀 Fresh Crabs and lots of Jigs & Rigs at the Shop!
Albies & Others
False albacore are still around in surprising numbers, with big schools moving through but feeding windows short. A few bones are mixed in, with a steady bite off Narragansett earlier in the week. Cod have been a more regular by-catch for blackfishers working deeper rockpiles.
🔥 Hot Lures: Epoxy Jigs by Hogy and JoeBaggs have been top producers.
It's late October, but there's plenty left to fish for—pick your window, watch the weather, and get after it.
