Things are heating up here in southern Rhode Island, with summer like temperatures and the arrival of stripers. A few customers are starting to catch tautog, with most of the action coming from areas up inside of the bay, where the water is a bit warmer than out front. Boats have been taking advantage of the fair weather and targeting Cod while land based fisherman have been chasing the freshly stocked Trout. Herring are moving up into the rivers and the holdover striped bass have been very active this week. These fish will be mixing in with their migratory friends. Most early arrival fish are relatively small but everyday we should see more numbers and larger fish.
