Our Summer fish residents are all moved back. Fluke, Seabass, Striper, Scup, and Bluefish. Whether your fishing from shore or out on a boat our customers have been finding a variety of different fish. Stripers and bluefish have been being caught from the Breachways on both tides. It seems like using eels for bait has taken off this week with a lot of good size fish being caught on them. A few of our customers have been enjoying chunking bunker and mackerel from the shore. Able to pull an occasional nice striper out of the more plentiful dogfish and skate.
In the pond a lot of the algae has lifted and is making its way out. Mummies, rain bait, needle fish, silversides and juvenile fluke, tog, seabass are what are making up a basses palate. Bass are being caught from schoolies to 15 lbs in the pond.
Fluke fishing has been pretty consistent locally and over at block, with a fair amount of keeper seabass being caught in the mix. Squid are still plentiful locally so as long as your putting some fresh bait down you should be well off. Haven't really heard any reports of some colors rigs producing better than others.
Tuna reports this week were great and we have a lot of life showing up not to far out. Find the whales and bait, the tuna will be there. Whether your trolling jigging or chunking you should be in luck.
