Now We're Talking!

Summer conditions are finally hitting Southern RI. Nice weather and calm ocean conditions have given boaters a chance to get out and find some fish.

Another solid week of local south shore bass fishing with customers catching schoolies as well as 30+ pound bass. The Breachways and shore spots have been producing some fish but boaters have a bit of an edge fishing live eels out on deeper structure and out at Block Island. Better shore bite has been coming from early and late. Bass and blues have been seen blitzing on sand eels along the beaches and in the salt ponds.

The fluke bite has been holding up this past week with reports of a lot of shorts with a few keepers in the mix. Areas from 35-55ft of water with some structure seem to be producing well for fluke. Fluke are also chasing sand eels so try using some chartreuse colored baits and showing smaller presentations to match. Fishing for black sea bass seems to be picking up with more keepers moving in along the shoreline and there are plenty of scup around.

Tuna reports were strong past few days with most bites coming on the troll. SE direction off block. With warm water rolling into our area keep an eye out when your out you’ll never know what you’ll see!
