So Many Choices!

Fluke fishing continues to produce well for boats drifting along the beaches and out at block. There are a lot of short fluke around with a decent number of keepers mixed in. Fluke are primarily feeding on squid and sand eels.

Fishing for striped bass remains very good with bass into the 30-pound class being caught locally on live eels and even bigger bass out around Block Island. Chunking from the beach at night has produced some nice fish for a few customers this week. More bait showing up in the salt ponds peanut bunker, juvenile fluke, juvenile seabass and various rain bait.

There are still some bluefish around but not quite as many as earlier in the season. Mackerel schools can be found cruising the south shore.

Tons of scup and a decent number of black sea bass.

Offshore, the tuna bite has been heating up with reports of bluefin and a few yellowfin being caught from areas south of Montauk and Block Island.
